The Philips Sonicare HX6972 FlexCare Plus is my favorite model from the Sonicare line featuring five brush modes. The Philips Sonicare HX6972 comes with everything you need for a complete oral care. It’s much better than using a manual toothbrush.

The Philips Sonicare HX6972 FlexCare is a rechargeable toothbrush that comes in five brushing modes which will remove plaque deep between teeth and alone the gum line to decrease the risk of getting gingivitis. Also, you will improve your gum health within a two week period. This HX6972 model also comes with back lighting which indicates your brushing mode and a UV brush-head sanitizer which will kill up to 99 percent of bacteria and viruses from the Sonicare brush head.

Improves Gum Health in Two weeks

The Sonicare HX6972 FlexCare will clean along the gum line which will remove plaque while stimulating the gums. This means there will be less gum pain and less bleeding. Most adults suffer from gum disease at least once in their lives so the FlexCare will definitely help you and your gums. An important party of maintaining good oral health is to have your teeth cleaned regularly.

Gently but Powerful Cleaning

The Philips Sonicare FlexCare uses the Sonic technology which will provide up to 31,000 movements per minute. The motions drive fluids deep into tight spaces between your teeth and along your gum line which will give you a cleaner and healthier mouth.

There are two brush heads which are included when you buy the Philips Sonicare HX6972 Flexcare Plus model. One is a standard ProResults brush head and the other is a compact ProResults Brush head. Each of these brush heads will clean along the gum and remove diseases-causing plaque for a effective cleaning.

Five Brushing Modes

The Philips Sonicare HX6972 FlexCare Plus comes with five brushing modes so you can personalize your brushing depending on your oral-care needs. This will improve the health of your gums. The gum care mode will provide two minutes of complete whole-mouth cleaning and one minute of gentle cleaning for problem areas. Brushing in the gum care mode will improve your gum health by reducing inflammation, recession and bleeding.

Message mode also improves gum health to drive fluids between teeth to fight plaque and stimulate the gums. Clean mode is for a complete cleaning. The refresh mode is for touch-ups and quick cleanings. Finally, the fifth and final sensitive mode is extra gentle for people with sensitive teeth. A illuminated display will indicate which mode you have selected.

Smart timer, Easy Start option & Quadpacer

The Sonicare features an “Easy-start” option that will gently increase the toothbrush’s power over the first 12 users so you can adjust to the sonic technology. This is great for new users.

To insure proper brushing, the Sonicare HX6972 FlexCare Plus features two timers. The smart timer will encourage you to brush for a full two minutes which is recommended by dentists. Also, the Quadpacer beeps in 30-second intervals to make sure you are brushing properly for all four quadrants of your mouth.

Philips Sonicare HX6972 FlexCare Plus Review

I’ve been a fan of the Philips Sonicare for years and I’ve had the HX6972 FlexCare plus model for a few months now and It’s definitely the best model at the moment. It’s a lot better than my old Sonicare model which was a shock because I loved my old model.

This is one of the best investment for your dental hygiene which is a must buy. There are a lot of improvements in this FlexCare plus model and you will notice a big difference in improvements. This is a upgrade you must get if you have an old Sonicare product laying around.

The Escort Passport 9500ix is a premium Radar/Laser detector that is highly intelligent and very effective. The 9500ix model will detect all types of speed enforcement radars such as X, K, Ka, and Ku from both the front and rear. The 9500ix radar detector also eliminates false alarms by locking out false locations. This information is stored so you won’t be alerted for false alarms.

The Passport 9500ix’s GPS system uses the same satellites used for GPS navigation devices to pinpoint your location and compares it to the detector’s database of red light and speed camera locations. As you approach a threat, the radar detector will provide you with an instant audible and visual alert. You will never be caught off caught by hidden speed traps or speed cameras because of the GPS features.

A couple of years ago, you would be able to just go out and get a cheap radar detector under $50 and it can detect signals in the X band radio frequency which were used by law enforcement back then. These days, you will rarely find anyone in the law enforcement using the X band frequency meaning the cheap radar detectors are no longer effective. If you are still using a old school radar detector, then it’s time to upgrade your device before you get caught speeding.

Features

Artificial Learning – The 9500ix features an auto learning technology that will scan for radar threats and associates the specific frequency of an alert to a specific GPS location. If the radar picks up a frequency from a flagged location three times, it will black list it by adding it to it’s database. This will eliminate false alerts. Lots of radar detectors are victims of false alerts. This is the reason why I abandon my old radar/laser detector.

Voice and high resolution display alerts – As you approach a threat, the 9500ix will alert you with a distinct alert for the particular band of radar. It will also display a visual alert on the blue LED display. You can also customize the visual alerts to provide you with more information by switching to expert mode. If you want to ignore the voice alerts, you may use the Mute, Auto Mute and Auto Volume options.

Detects all speed enforcement radars – The 9500ix detects X, K, Ka, and Ku band radio frequency. Red light cameras, speed cameras, and laser cameras will all be detected.

Detects Speed Traps, Red Light Cameras, Speed Cameras, Laser Cameras and More – Because of it’s comprehensive database, the 9500ix has the ability to alert you of these cameras and traps. The database is updated frequently.

Variable Speed Sensitivity – The GPS inside the 9500ix radar detector can also measure your speed and automatically varies the radar stength for optimal radar protection.

Free Windshield Mount and Smart Power Cord – A windshield suction cup mount and power is included for free when you purchase the escort passport detector.

Updates - Escort Passport 9500ix models includes a mini USB port which can be connected to your computer USB port for updates from Escort.

Inside The Box

Here are the things that are included when you purchase the 9500ix radar detector:

Escort Passport 9500ix Radar/Laser Detector

Coiled SmartCord power adapter

Suction cup mounting system

Manual guide/quick reference card

Warranty information

It’s Legal

Radar detectors are legal to use in non-commercial vehicles in 49 states. Virginia and Washington DC are the only places in the United States that has a ban on radar detectors.

Worth It?

The Escort Passport 9500ix is currently the best detector I’ve ever owned. The 9500ix model is more sensitive than other radar/laser detectors, but it won’t alert you of a false alarm twice as it will “store” false alerts in it’s database. The reason I stopped using my old detector was because of it’s annoying false alerts, but you won’t have this problem with the Escort Passport.

The 9500ix is currently listed at $435 with free shipping which is expensive for a lot of us, but a speeding ticket is around $300 and this detector has saved me a lot, so this radar detector is more than worth the asking price. The Escort Passport 9500ix radar/laser detector is currently the best in the market and you will love it.

VueZone is a wireless surveillance system which installs in minutes. The VueZone surveillance system has no wires and no power cord, making it truly wireless. Once installed, you will be able to monitor your home remotely from a computer or a smartphone. VueZone is brought to you by Netgear, which is a known and trusted brand for their computer networking products.

If you need security cameras to watch and protect your family, for the home, protecting the business, or watching your pets while you are work for an affordable price, the Vuezone security cameras are for you. The price for the VueZone system starts at $199.95 for the SM2200 model which includes…

1 VueZone motion detection camera

1 VueZone Gateway. This plugs into your DSL/cable modem or router

2 Wall mounts

2 CR123 batteries for the wire-free camera

Installation guide

Ethernet cable

AC adapter for the VueZone gateway

If one motion detection camera isn’t enough for you, VueZone offers additional cameras for $79.95 without the motion detection and $99.95 for a motion detection camera. Adding additional cameras to your network is a simple process. It’s as easy as clicking the SYNC button on your VueZone gateway and your new additional camera will instantly be viewable.

The Installation Process

VueZone has made it very easy to install your new wireless surveillance system. Here are the steps to install your new security system:

Connect the VueZone Gateway (base station) to your router or DSL/Cable modem

Install the batteries for the wireless cameras. The batteries are included for free

Press the “SYNC” button on top of your base station.

Install the wireless cameras using the wall mounts (included)

Registering your VueZone at their website.

Honestly, it’s one of the easiest products to install, but if you are having diffculties, you can get help/support at http://support.netgear.com/ (VueZone is owned by netgear). VueZone also provides user guides for iPhone and Android smartphone users.

The VueZone Review

The VueZone wireless surveillance system will handle up to 15 wireless cameras with the elite service plan which is more than enough for small businesses or hardcore home owners.

Before you use your VueZone video security system, you will need to pick one of these service plans: Basic (free), Premier ($49.99 or $4.99/month), or Elite ($79.99/year). Here are the service plan pricing and features.

Basic – Free. View remotely from your computer and supports up to 2 wireless surveillance cameras

Premier – $49.99/yr or $4.99/month. You will be able to view remotely from your computer or smartphone, connect up to 5 cameras, 250 MB storage for online recording storage, video email alerts and pan and zoom digitally.

Elite – $79.99/yr. Everything the premier service plan has plus 500 MB of online storage and supports up to 15 surveillance cameras.

I went with the premier service plan for $4.99 since I wanted video email alerts and to remotely connect to my wireless cameras when I wasn’t home. I’m not happy that I have to pay for such features as I think it should be free. I was going to initially go with the basic service plan which supports up to 2 cameras and being able to view the cameras remotely from a computer, but the features included in the premier plan is too hard to pass up. If you don’t know which service plan to go with, I would go with the basic plan which is free and upgrade later if needed. Since I have the premier plan, I will be reviewing that plan along with the VueZone surveillance system.

My favorite feature of the VueZone surveillance system has to be the video email alerts which will notify you by email if your security cameras detect motion within it’s view. Once you get the alert, you will be able to view any of your VueZone cameras live. You can also change the settings so the alert can automatically take a snapshot of the detected motion or record a video which can last either 10 seconds or 40 seconds. This is part of the premier/elite plan and not available in the free basic plan.

In the premier plan, you will also be able to view your cameras from your smartphone and your computer. You can also connect five cameras to your system, pan and zoom digitally, access your video recordings from a secure online storage, high-resolution snapshot, scheduling and recording options, 250 MB of online video storage, publish to YouTube & Flickr and share your cameras with up to 10 people.

The only thing I do not like is having to pay for the service plan. $4.99/month isn’t expensive, but I don’t normally like paying monthly for products. I guess I can always go back to the basic plan If I don’t want to pay a monthly fee for the extra fees, but the premier plan is worth it for an extra $4.99 a month.

Some things I like about the VueZone is it’s simple to setup and use. I also love the fact that the life of the battery will last 6 months with normal usage. The features of the premier is also great and hard to pass up.

Overall, the VueZone video security system is a great way to protect your family, home, business or anything you need to protect.

VueZone is NOT a 24/7 recording Surveillance System

The VueZone cameras are not recording 24 hours a day, 7 times a week. It will only be active if you are viewing it remotely from a computer or smartphone, have it on a schedule to record or if it detects motion within it’s viewing distance. It’s meant to check in when you aren’t there. This is great on batteries usage since it will only turn on at the most important times.

Money Back Guaranteed

VueZone offers a 30 day risk free for all of their products. If you are not happy with your purchase within 30 days, let them know and they give you a full refund.

The Slingbox PRO is a media device that will let you stream what’s on your TV to the internet. This is one of the coolest little machine I’ve seen in a long time. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the next room or 1000 miles away from home, you will be able to watch TV in 1080i HD as if you are at home. The Slingbox PRO is the most advanced of the sling media line up as of writing this so I will be doing a review on the Sling box PRO.

Imagine yourself at a friend or families place and they don’t even have satellite or cable TV, you can easily connect to your Slingbox and watch Cable/Satellite TV as if you were at sitting at home. You will be able to have full access to all the channels, your DVR and anything you’ve recorded as long as internet access is available.

You can also watch and use Slingbox on your smartphone or tablet turning it into a TV anywhere you go! The only downfall of using it on your smartphone or tablet is it will use a lot of data so unless you have an unlimited data plan, I would not recommend using it on your smartphone. Most places has free WiFi these days, so you check if you can use WiFi instead on your mobile phone.

SlingBox PRO HD Features

Watch & record your live and recorded TV on your PC, MAC, smartphone or tablet.

Watch HD videos from anywhere

You can input up to 3 devices (DVR, cable box, DVD player, satellite receiver, etc…)

Built-in ATSC/NTSC/WAM tuner. There are no monthly fees

SlingBox Pro HD Inputs

There are no HDMI connections on this device, here are the available inputs on this device….

Composite video (red, yellow, and white inputs)

Component video (red, blue, green)

S-Video

Coax for your cable connection

USB connection

Here are the outputs:

Composite video (red, yellow, and white inputs)

Component video (red, blue, green)

S-Video

Coax

Compatible With Computers and Mobile Phones

Slingbox will work for MACs or PC/Laptop that runs Windows. It will also work on smartphones such as iPhone, Android BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Symbian, and Palm OS devices. The Slingbox will also run on Apple (iPad) and Androids tablets.

Setting Up The Slingbox Pro

It’s a simple process to set up your Slingbox Pro HD. It’s as easy as connecting your A/V sources (DVR, cable box, DVD player, and more), connecting the Slingbox to your home network, and then setting up the Slingbox software on your computer, laptop, mac, smartphone or tablet.

Here are some of the devices that you can connect to your Slingbox Pro HD:

DVRs

DVD Player/Recorder

Satellite Receiver (Dish/DirectTV)

Cable/Digital Box

Video/Security Camera

Only You Can Access Your SlingBox

The only person that can access the Slingbox is you or anyone else you give your login information to. This means that your friends and family can share the experience of the Slingbox with you.

The only problem with this is if one person changes the channel, you will be watching the new channel also. The Slingbox is great for sharing movies, sports or pay per view though. It’s a great way to save money on pay per view between friends and families.

You Have Full Control And Access To Your Devices And Programs

It doesn’t matter if you are thousand of miles away from home, the Slingbox will let you watch TV anywhere with a computer, smartphone or tablet. You will be able to control your channels/programming as if you were at home.

You will be given a remote called SlingRemote that looks like a remote control that will let you control your devices away from home. You will be able to control all of the devices that are connected to the Slingbox Pro. Pretty cool right?

Combining It With Other Media Players

I really love hooking up the WD TV Live Hub with the Slingbox. It’s great together since I have a lot of movies in my WD TV live hub. This is of course only optional as you can connect any A/V sources to your SlingBox PRO HD.

Final Thoughts On Slingbox Pro HD

I love this device for everything it has done for me. I can bring all of my devices from home (cable box, DVR, media players) without having to actually bring them with me. I can connect to all of my devices from home as long as I have internet access.

The Slingbox Pro HD will cost you $250, but it’s a one time payment and there are no monthly fees attached. This model is their top of the line model.

There are only two things that I don’t really like about the SlingBox which is there are no HDMI inputs and to watch HD, you will need a decent upload speed from your home network. It’s not a big deal though, I still love the Slingbox and definitely think it’s worth the price.

Since the Western Digital Live Streaming Media Player(WD TV Live Hub) and the Western Digital TV Live(WD TV Live) is pretty much the same except for two differences… The WD TV Live Hub has a built in 1TB hard drive and is able to stream to multiple rooms using any DLNA device while the WD TV Live has a built-in Wi-Fi.

Just to avoid any confusions, WD TV Live Hub is short for Western Digital Live Streaming Media Player which is the more expensive version and WD TV Live is short for Western Digital TV Live which of course is the cheaper version. These are their newest media players.

Here are the features on both models of the western digital media players:

Watch movies from premium services such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, CinemaNow, Blockbuster and other premium content

Cons: No built in Wi-Fi, but you can get a Wireless Adapter for $12 or use the Ethernet port. So not a deal breaker

The Back Of WD TV Live

I/O Ports: HDMI, Ethernet, 2 USB, Optical

Pros: Built-in Wifi

Cons: No built in hard drive and no DLNA streaming

It will play almost any type of media files

Both versions of the western digital media player will play almost any type of media type files. I haven’t ran into a file type that it cannot play. This is great for people who download movies or videos on the internet, put them on a USB drive or home network and play it through the media player. WD TV Live Hub version lets you send the file directly to the hard drive of the player while the normal WD TV Live can only play movies through a USB or home network.

Watching internet content and premium contents with Western Digital Media Player

You can access internet content such as YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, Pandora, daily video podcasts and more. Not only that, but you can access premium content such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, CinemaNow, and Blockbuster on demand. It’s cool to access these content on your TV.

Your media collection on TV

You be able to view photos, videos, and songs on the big screen with the western digital media player. You can easily connect your USB drive, your home network, camcorder, and digital camera as a media source.

WD TV Live Vs. WD TV Live Hub: Which one should you get?

WD TV Live Hub is obviously the better choice, but it also cost $85 more. Is it worth the extra $85? It depends. WD TV Live Hub comes with a 1TB hard drive which alone is worth the $85, but if you don’t need a hard drive, then go with the regular WD TV Live. I love the 1TB hard drive because I can store a whole bunch of media files without having to worry about space running out since 1TB is a large amount of disk space.

The WD TV Live Hub also has DLNA streaming which means you are able to stream media files from the media player to any DLNA/UPnP compatible TV, Blue-Ray Disc player or game consoles. DLNA is actually quite popular these days and most new devices will have them. Your newer devices should have them.

If you don’t need a 1TB hard drive and DLNA streaming, then the regular WD TV Live should do it’s job. It’s basically the same machine except for those two features.

The western digital media player is a great media player and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to view their medias on the big screen.

Get the WD TV Live - $79.99 or WD TV Live Hub - $164.00
